Red Door Shimmer

23rd October, 2012 (Tuesday), was a lucky day for me in two ways. Firstly, my Golu gifted me Elizabeth Arden’s (EA) new fragrance, Red Door Shimmer. This makes it my fifth fragrance from EA. And this also kicks off my Christmas shopping.

But what makes the day really special is that on that day I led the entire rosary at my community on my own. I was the leader for that evening. It came as a surprise and I absolutely loved it. All the petitions were spontaneous and I guess my fruits of hard work are at last paying off. And that is why I feel that this particular day has been an extremely lucky day for me.

According to my research, EA’s Red Door Shimmer perfume is a limited edition holiday flanker to 1989’s Red Door fragrance. This glamorous ‘floriental’ fragrance is a modern blend of sparkling fruits, shimmering florals and warming woods. Though it’s a Christmas gift, I have already used it.

The juice was developed by perfumer Clement Gavarry, and includes notes of pear, yuzu leaf, blackberry, pink pepper, gardenia, Casablanca lily, peony, tonka bean, red amber, musk, sandalwood and vetiver.

I won’t be surprised if Red Door Shimmer becomes my signature scent because I have loved it. This new fragrance is one intended for the upcoming Christmas season with a spirit of shimmering effervescence which has already got me in the mood for our triple celebration in style.

Though the bottle is not all that beautiful, I read somewhere that it resembles sparkling champagne. This fragrance is definitely different from my previous collections of EA perfumes yet it’s similar to them in some way. “Red Door Shimmer definitely holds true to its muse while remaining its own fragrance”, writes someone in her column.
