My birthday…

Why do I love my birthday?

Why do I wait for it for the whole year?

Why do I shop so much for my birthday?

Because...

...it is written in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

I love my birthday simply because God made me wonderfully and knew me much before I was born. I should rejoice that I am born…

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it...Alleluia!!!

Emerald Green

Well, if anyone has carefully read my earlier post, the colour theme of my 16th Wedding Anniversary is Emerald Green. The alternate colours are Red or Silver. And like I mentioned in the earlier post, I want to start shopping for my sixteenth wedding anniversary for the year 2015 and to avoid making it too much greenish, I would surely add a splash of red and silver and also leopard print. I won’t go wrong with my green attire paired with a leopard accent.

Talking about emerald, also called emerald green, it is a tone of green that is particularly light and bright, with a faint bluish cast. The name derives from the typical appearance of the gemstone emerald. The first recorded use of emerald as a colour name in English was in 1598.

Emerald is a brilliant, deep green, like that of the gemstone from which it takes its name. William Shakespeare was one of the early adopters of emerald as a colour name in the 1600s; prior to that, the term, which comes to us from the Greek smaragdos meaning "green gem," was bound to the precious green stone of beryl.

So, peach colour will take a backseat now to begin shopping for emerald green.

Birthday Colour Theme

The colour theme of my birthday this year is peach. Why peach? Well, honestly peach isn’t at all my favourite colour – nowhere near favourite. It so happens that in January I had been to Colaba and I saw extremely beautiful footwear with a colour combination of peach and gold. I bought it and from that day I decided that in 2015, the colour theme of my birthday will be peach. It’s as simple as that.

Till date, I have done a lot of birthday shopping and bought a lot of clothes and accessories in peach. My birthday shopping is almost done. Yes, I know it’s in July but the pleasurable feeling of shopping for your birthday is to be experienced to be believed and I like to experience this feeling throughout the year. That’s the reason I keep shopping for my birthday throughout the year.

Same with my wedding anniversary. I like to shop for the wedding anniversary throughout the year. This year it will be the sixteenth anniversary and the traditional colour for a sixteenth wedding anniversary is emerald green. Thank goodness, it’s one of my favourite colours and so I am very excited with this colour theme. Though I haven’t bought anything in emerald green, knowing me well enough, I will start soon.

Rejection

I am going through rejection right now and it is frustrating me extremely. I feel like speaking to my Golu right now but looks like he’s busy. He is not responding to my messages. So, instead of going mad, I thought I will write a blog post on rejection. After all, it’s been really long since I blogged and since most of the times I use it as my stress-bursting tool, I thought of using it now.

I am feeling this rejection again. I am just sick and tired of this rejection -- since 2014; this is the sixth time I have been rejected. I am unable to take rejection anymore. It’s driving me crazy. I am unable to understand God’s plan but I know that it is for our prosperity and not for our destruction. This much I am sure of and I can trust the Lord for a good future.

But what I am failing to understand now is what exactly is lying in the future. Well, no one knows that so it’s better to leave it in the all-knowing hands of Jesus Christ. With Him in our boat, there’s no fear of drowning. He loves us too very much. Though the whole world keeps rejecting us, I am proud to say that He will never reject us. He has never rejected us in the past and He will not do so in the future also.

Ah, feeling much better now. This crazy feeling is almost fading. I know blogging gives me the same pleasure which I get when I am at the church -- peaceful -- I am happy writing this blog post. Thank you, Jesus!!!

PS: Today is Ash Wednesday. The beginning of the holy Lenten season. We went to the church in the morning and I surrendered all my negativity at the feet of Jesus. I prayed to be a better person and resurrect with the Lord on Easter morn a totally new person -- without any negativity. Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!!!!!

Who is Jesus?

Sometimes, I get really wonderful Whatsapp messages which I like to convert into my blog post. Some days back I received this message on Whatsapp and I just loved it. Immediately, I thought of making it my blog post but I couldn’t do so. Today since I have some spare time and so I thought that I should be making this message into my blog post. Here’s an excerpt from the message:

Who is Jesus?
In Chemistry, He turned water into wine.
In Biology, He was born without the normal conception.
In Physics, He disapproved the law of gravity when He ascended into heaven.
In Economics, He disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5000 men with two fishes and 5 loaves of bread.
In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs.
In History, He is the beginning and the end.
In Government, He said that He shall be called Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace.
In religion, He said no one comes to the Father except through Him.
So, who is He? He is Jesus!
Join me and let’s celebrate Him; He is worthy.
In Him I have found everything. The greatest Man in History. Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master. He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb yet He lives today. I feel honoured to serve such a Leader who loves us.

Even I feel honoured to serve Him. I feel restless when I don’t take His name. Last week, I had gone to my brother’s place for spending some Festive Moments with them during the Happy Holidays. Though I loved to spend these Festive Moments as a family, I really missed Jesus. Though before marriage I used to celebrate the Vanity Fair myself, I found all these extremely superficial now. Instead of worshipping, I found people more interested in walking the ramp. Same thing used to happen during my time also and I realized that nothing has changed. Same things are happening even now albeit at a higher level -- it’s so disgusting!

So I am proud to be a child of Jesus now whom I can call my own. I am extremely privileged to be in His family.

Woman of the Home

This morning I received this beautiful message on Whatsapp.

In Luke 7, Jesus observed a huge funeral procession in Nain. The entire town was present over there. He observed the young men and women weeping. He observed the pastors and apostles weeping. He observed the elders weeping. He observed the fathers weeping. He observed the children weeping. He observed the sadness on all their faces. Nothing seemed to move Him, until HE SAW THE MOTHER. The Bible says He had compassion when He saw her and immediately raised her boy from the dead. (Luke 7:12- 15) It was the cry of a mother that moved the Heart of God. Mothers who cry before the Lord for their families, marriages, for their homes, move the heart of God. When mothers stop praying for their families (especially children) perish. Satan gets a foothold and starts destroying the home, yet when they return to their rightful place as the anchor of the home, demonic strongholds get demolished. In Psalms 17, 36, 57, 63 and 91, God’s role is likening that of a mother. As a mother protects, upholds and defends her children, so does God also protects us under the shadow of His wings. We find refuge there and can hide there until the danger is over. A mother’s role is so vital that a father cannot get his prayers answered if he dishonours/disrespects her (1 Peter 3: 7). Because of this favours over mothers, they are also the most attacked people in their homes (the powerhouse in the home). Yet the Lord has put inside mothers, grace and resilience, to overcome any situation. Today, as the woman of the home, consider yourself blessed. Consider yourself highly favoured and consider yourself dangerous when you pray.

So I am feeling highly favoured and blessed right now. This message has answered all my doubts and soothed all my pains. Now I am ready to run my race. Now I am ready to take up my daily cross smilingly, patiently and without any inhibitions. This message has come to me at the right time. As a mother of the home, I have to be strong and carry on with all trials and tribulations. I am not alone – Jesus Christ is always there with me – He’s my strength. And His momma, Momma Mary, is always there interceding to Him for me. I just have to “do whatever He tells me to”.
